EP 94 | How to cope with your mum rage
In this episode, I’m talking coping with “mum rage.”
I know it’s something that isn’t often talked about, but these intense moments of frustration happen and we’re not alone in feeling this way.
I found myself facing it head on, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, and it made me realise how crucial it is to understand what’s going on underneath.
In this episode, I’ll walk you through what that moment looked like for me, why I reacted the way I did, and, most importantly, how I shifted my mindset around it.
If you’re feeling stretched to breaking point or snapping at the ones you love, this episode is for you.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
- Why ‘mum rage’ is more common than you think and why experiencing it doesn’t mean you’re doing motherhood wrong
- What really causes those intense moments and how to recognise the tiny leaks in your mental load and energy that can lead to ovewhelm.
- How I realised when your “cup is slowly draining” and why it’s a powerful reminder to check in with your needs
- Why self compassion and role modelling are so important for your kids in these moments.
- Why it’s okay to feel frustrated and how acknowledging these feelings helps you manage them better.
If you’re wrestling with mum rage or feeling like you’re barely keeping it together, I hope this episode reassures you that there’s nothing wrong with feeling this way, and we can all work through it, one day at a time.
