Ep 15 | The Mental Load Hangover

This episode is all about The Mental Load Hangover, a feeling that many mothers face when dealing with the stress and challenges that pop up in life.

It can be a roadblock, leading us astray or feeling disconnected from the world at times. It can have a significant impact on our well-being and overall quality of life.

The Mental Load Hangover is real. It is normal when big changes, moments or periods of heavy mental load (expected or unexpected) appear in our life. It’s all part of the ebbs and flows.

But that’s even more reason to take care of ourselves and recognise when we need help getting out of this funk.

Going through periods of heavy mental load and experiencing that hangover can be really tough - trust me, I get it.

So, how do you deal with it?

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why it is important to allow yourself to sit in hard feelings, instead of pushing them away or trying to ignore them.
  • How to recognise negative thought patterns that pop up during stressful times.
  • What strategies you could use to help you take a step back and reflect to be able to identify the issues that are causing you stress.

Give yourself the permission to acknowledge your emotions, You don’t have to always be ‘on’ 24/7.  Taking moments for yourself and your recovery are important too.

Remember that it's okay to ask for help when we need it, and that self-care should be a priority.   That’s where A Mother's Mind comes in. I offer a community of mothers dedicated to supporting and empowering each other through shared experiences and actionable steps towards personal development.
